I have a 2005 crown vic cooling fan will not come on, overheats at stop light.
I have jumped the fan straight to the battery, and it runs. I have replaced the temp. sensor, checked the fuses, even got a new fan assembly and tried it, didn' work. Does anyone have any ideas?

So the Vics have a Radiator Fan Relay as well do you know if this has been checked? Looking at all the other information I did not see it mentioned.

Also, I tried the new fan with engine running and air cond. on, every think I have read said it should be running with air on.

Not that I have seen in the wiring diagram you may want to try testing the contacts the relay plugs in to and see if you have any shorts.

Can you use a test light to check it, it is all I have.

For some of the connections yes but for the ground connections you would really need a multi-meter. Do you have a Harborfreight near you? If you do they have an awesome little pocket multi-meter for under $10.

there is a fan control module on the fan assembly itself, it could have gone bad.

I have replaced the fan assembly, replaced all relays, and replaced the temp. sensor.

Yes, we have a harbor freight near us, and I will be there in the moring. I am thinking something is not sending a signal to power the fan. Just don't know enough about it to figure it out.

did you run 12v directly to the fan to see if motor was good?
