Hello All,

I have a 2009 Crown Vic P71 Interceptor and after it has sat for a while, when you start I can hear just a half a second of valve chatter. Is this normal for a car that has 170 thousand miles? I am using 5W full synthetic oil.
Thanks,
Terry

Not sure what valve chatter sound like. My daily driver is an 09' P71 Ford crown vic w/ 94k on her. When starting, I hear the starter turn over, then right away you hear the low idling engine. Even starting it cold every morning, it turns over quick, and idles low with no chatter or odd noises of any kind.

Hi,
The noise is more like a bag of steel ball bearings shaken once or twice. Then it stops. It's only on startup. It could sound like a cars that is low 2 quarts of oil but as I said it stops in a quick second.
