the past few week my 5.0 has been running rich, so rich fuel dripping from my exhaust.
I have cleaned my throttle body, replaced ERG valve and sil, throttel sensor, idle control. traced my vacum lines no leaks. I pulled my intake manifold, cleaned it. plugs, wirs, rotor and cap. the engine ran great for a week, then started running rich again. back firing with a bad smell nasty smell.
this is an EFI
where can I turn next? this my only transportation.
I have a 5.8 block thinking to change it out replacing the 5.0
hopping to hear that it my be somthing simple.
thank you for any sajestions. |

I pulled my cross bar at the back end of my head, it was fully clogged up.
also my ERG pipe that I finally unscrewed was also clogged.
I have ordered a new map sensor, just wondering if I can remove my ac pump that also acts as a smog pump? |

sounds like you have a major problem. are your compression readings normal?
does it have a catalytic converted exhaust?
your EGR system may be wrong causing the enriching and soot. |

I would check the PCV valve and filter. If I am thinking correctly there is a filter in the intake. Looks a lot like course steel wool. They get clogged up and cause drive-ability issues. |
