Should I buy a 2001 7.3 that has 284k miles on it? It\\\\\\'s for sale for about $7,000. Thanks in advance

Need more info. Powdered metal rods or forged? Transmission. Was it rebuilt WITHOUT the diode?

Which is better in these cases with the rods? I know nothing about Excursions besides that the 7.3 engine can last a long time, the 6.0 are a hassle to maintain and the gas ones are guzzlers. If nobody minds the explain these things to me I would be most grateful. Thanks everyone

So the dealership finally got back to me about those questions and all I got was "I am not able to answer your questions. you are more than welcome to stop by during business hours (10-7)." I'm a bit concerned.
