Nickname: Current 5.0 project
Mileage:
Engine: Explorer GT40P engine, E303 cam, TrickFlow valve springs, later model cast exhaust manifolds, Fox body convertible mounts, Explorer radiator, oil filter relocated to core support, Performer RPM intake, Rochester Q-Jet
Drivetrain: Hydraulic AOD, SilverFox shift kit, Advance Adapters kit, Factory 13-50(?) transfer case, 8-lug adapters, some kind of 1.5 inch spacer/lift up front, longer shackles in rear
Notes: Last destination (perhaps) for the 5.0. Body lifted 3 inches makes things tremendously easier. I could NOT for some reason get the oil pan far enough off the engine crossmember to feel comfortable with so all mounts are lifted 1 inch with aluminum square tube. I have questions as to it's durability so it will probably be swapped out when it is actually drive-able with steel.

How it currently sits. Eventually I will put the bumper back on.

Sitting on the 35s I pulled off the F250 when I bought it. Yes, I used adapters. No, they will not stay on the truck.

Absolutely LOVE the stance. Problem is, it does not turn for crap. The tires hit the fenders almost instantly; so now I am torn between trimming the fenders to fit 35s or buy tires that actually fit when the time comes.

New valve covers are awesome....also a LOT taller than the factory units. Need to majorly rework the heater box.

Snazzy new air cleaner. You can see the later model exhaust manifolds in this picture. It cleans up the look and brings in the driver manifold close to the cylinder head A LOT. With the factory tube manifolds it came very close to hitting the steerin...

Changed my mind on the fuel injection (only have the intakes and fuel rail..individual parts are hard to come by around here and even more so when they're not asking a first born). No, no you are not seeing things, that IS a Quadra-Jet. I have my rea...

New home for the 5.0. Explorer intake. You can see where I mounted the oil filter in this shot. Where it is mounted is where the charcoal canister used to be. The hoses were provided in the kit but I took it a step farther and had hydraulic fittings ...

Loaded up to bring home from the parents place. I like the stance in this picture. Too bad the tires are way too big.
If you are wondering, I decided to swap the 5.0 in this one when the engine in this one went (driving this while working on the whit...

Working the Suburban. Towed great. Tires on the Ranger in this picture are 305/70r16s mounted on Ford Alcoas. Even with the 3" body lift and some kind of leveling kit (on there when I bought the truck) the tires are MUCH too big and contact the ...
