I was asked to build an interim 427 " look-a-like" engine for a friend until he could get his finances back together again. I took a 390 and bored it .080" and put in a 428 crank and tapped for screw-in plugs, drilled and tapped all oil galley plugs and drilled for cross-bolts. His biggest thrill is popping the hood at the local Friday nite show and letting everyone see his "427". Maybe it won't be long before we can use the real deal to build the next one.
