05/10/09Maintenance115Lights and wash
Ok so last week I forgot to take any pics. All I did was some clean-up stuff and some tinkerin/putzin.

I got to vacuum out the interior and reinstall the window switches. Now all 4 window's work, But the switch master switch has given up the ghost. The actual mechanical parts or the switch are rotten. There is no spring return and the connections inside are shot. Shame too... I may try some CRC NRCC on them and hope for a miracle.

I also gave her a wash. Just some dish soap and a soft rag ( At Doc's request ) I hated how I did it, But it's most likely gonna get a repaint anyways.

Oh yeah and the headlights are turned on by -Turning a lighting knob then one tap to floor button is on,2nd tap is brights and 3rd tap is off. I freed that up and now the Brake,Turn and Headlights all work.

Now remember this is 20 year old Enamel paint that spent 2 years sitting outside unwaxed or protected in anyway.. So it looks terrible. We basically removed dust and chased away spiders

And lastly.. I solved one of the stupidest problems I have ever seen. The electrical system is not ground sensitive, Meaning having the polarity switched it will still run and operate..Although not very well.

Some jerk off assumed the RED cable was + despite the fact you can see the BRIGHT RED cable run 1' right to the block as a ground. And they assumed the BLK cable was the ground which you can see run 8" right to the power distribution center. I mean dude its right there...RIGHT FRICKIN THERE.

So I turned the battery around and ran the cables to their correct post. Dear god..I hope the generator isn't toast. I got bright lights when running, So I think the generator is ok..But I think the cells in the battery may not be. Next week I will check the water.

Gee no wonder the window switches were getting hot

Next week I'm am gonna try to stop the 10 thousand leaks. Exhaust, fluids and windows when it rains...
