Nickname: Pappy's Chrysler
Mileage: 150
Engine: Factory Thermoquad 4bbl equipped 318. Cat delete Canadian model. Only an air pump and EGR. Freshened 1988 high swirl, higher compression 302 heads installed. MP timing chain tensioner kit installed with police double row timing chain and gears. MP water pump silicone bypass hose. Mr.Gasket 160 degree high flow thermostat. MP distributor controlled by Summit mulitple spark box. Smooth, low idle, excellent response and mileage. Custom Y-pipe built using Flowmaster Y piece. 2 1/4 inch all the way out through Hush Thrush muffler and 2 piece B-body 1978 spec Cordoba tailpipe.
Drivetrain: Remote transmission filter(spin on). Rebuilt the original 904 transmission. Open HD 8 1/4 rear end with 2.45:1 gears. Sony CD player with new 3 1/2 inch front speakers and fully 6 X 9 inch 3 way rear speakers. 120 amp Dakota Denso alternator bolted on, cured all electrical gremlins. Gear reduction starter motor from 90s Ram bolted in, starts are incredible easy now. Possibly the best $15.00 I ever spent.
Notes: Vehicle was purchased from Grandson of original owner in December 2008 for $650.00 Canadian. It walked through a safety check and is emissions exempt in this Province, as long as nobody votes NDP in the future.
The Grandson had taken good care of the vehicle for 2 years. Prior to that it had been owned and cared for (meticulously I'll add) by his Grandfather since he bought it new in 1981. To say it is rust free would be an understatement. Even the frame rails are still burgundy. Grampa may have ordered the CMX wheels as their center webs are painted body colour. We re-upholstered the headliner and rear window tunnel in 2010.
Mk IV cupholder/console.

This is what goes into the old mount housing, which is planty rigid and plenty strong. The deteriorated rubber is the weak link.

This is what you no longer need. It's also why your trans bumps around.

Empty out the bonded rubber that holds the steel tube the trans mount bolt passes through.

Want them angled ? Put them in the vice and bend em'. These nut onto the Denso alternator studs making this a true bolt on, with no wiring cutting at all.

Here it is about to tension the Sealed power double row timing chain with it's STEEL cam and crank gears. Note the early style oil slinger on the crank.

Here's my valve lapping station using the desk lamp. You can see the initial course lap on the exhaust seat in the first chamber.

With the pin pulled it is officially on the job. The idle can be dialed down under 500 rpms and it is SO smooth people comment all the time that they've never seen an engine runs so smooth. Never a timing miss or hiccup ever again.

Just look at that slacker of a chain, with it's plastic cam gear still in reasonable shape. At least we know junior didn't horse it too badly.
