motordrive.jpg The plate that covers the drive gear on this late-model window motor is crimped on, and its paper gasket is very adhesive, so it can take some effort to remove it the first time. Older motors only use the Phillips screw on a flat plate that's easy to remove. Next, remove the snap ring from the center shaft (if equipped, late motors only) and slide the inner metal & outer plastic gears out so the Delrin debris can be cleaned out of the housing, and off the gears.

Note that it is NOT necessary to fill the housing with grease, so don't.
