Notes: I'm retired from the Indiana Army National Guard with 23 years of service. I was deployed in 2003 as a truck driver. My primary MOS was Communications. I've been in manufacturing for the last 16 years with the automotive industry. I'm an active amateur radio operator, hence the call sign W9BAG. Look me up on QRZ.com for more information.

In the 70's & 80's, I was a MOPAR fan, owning a few collectible MOPARS. Then, I discovered the style, build quality, and ease of ownership of FORD'S.

My first Ford was a '74 Galaxie Coupe with a 400 engine, purchased when it was 2 years old. A few years later, I a '71 Pinto Squire wagon. A truly remarkable car. I loved it. I also owned a '79 Pinto wagon in the last couple of years. Great ride, with the 2.3 4 cylinder. A FULLY loaded wagon. I took it to car shows, with only 74K miles. I bought a '93 Ranger Splash with the 2.3 in '96. Fun, but too small. I traded it for a 3 year old '97 Thunderbird with the 4.6, fully loaded, including moon roof and automatic climate control. Black (the right color). I bought my '03 Crown Vic Sport 3 months ago. I love it. Dual leather power seats (with lumbar), 6 disc changer, all of the steering wheel goodies, real dual pipes, 17" wheels. I'm still looking for the opportunity to take it up to top speed. It's Sea Foam Green with dark gray interior. In the future, I plan to tweak the electronics and install
a Flowmaster exhaust and a K&N filter system. A supercharger may also be in the plan. The car also has the air ride suspension.
It nearly ties, though, with my '73 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham.
The Crown Vic has the lumbar seats. Nice touch. The Chrysler had that 440/4. Great torque. The 4.6 has great power with acceptable fuel economy.

The one thing that has really sold me on the Crown Vic is how quiet it is. My Dad has a newer Town Car. The Crown Vic blows it away. He agrees. I take corners that are posted at 25 MPH @ 50 MPH. No squeal, no drama. Just a great ride.
