Here we are ten years on and Dalton's liquid salt has played havoc with the brake lines. Last time I saved the fittings, as the brake hose union on the axle has a bubble type male fitting as born out in the larger rusty fitting on the left. The other end of the line has to be a conventional North American 3/16 inverted male flare fitting as seen on the right in the pic. Try finding a pre made line like that !
