I have E4OD and sometimes while driving it feels like it slips out of gear and the slams into gear anywhere between 20 and 60 MPH if I am less than half way on the gas. Can someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hey there. Do you think that maybe it could be the vacuum modulator on the tranny? It was just a thought because mine tends to slip from time to time, and it's not a fluid problem, but mine will do it when it is first fired up usually. Sometimes it doesn't want to shift from 3rd to 4th, so I have to let off the gas and basically "shift by foot".
Hello, by the way, i'm new.. .

Do you know how to check that? Or even where it is located? |

I know mine is located on the right hand side of my tranny if you are under the truck with your head under the bell housing. It's a small circular silver part that's about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, and has (i think) one small branch coming out the side where the vacuum tubing would attach. I know mine is very easy to change out, and the part is only like $14.00 . There's only one bolt that I need to remove to get it off. I've seen waaaayyy too much of my transmission in the past month. Anyway, that's the one of the things that popped into my head when you said it didn't shift right. From all of the people i've talked to that's one of the things that came out of their mouths first, that and of course, the fluid level, but I doubt that's your problem.

Id be real carefull about taking it out too.... ther is a pin in the modulator that you do not want to drop. Make sure that when you pull it out the pin comes with other wise, you'll have to look for it and then prolly drop the pan to try and find it there.
