Others have told him that they got rid of their death wobble by putting a track bar on..

I think its the caster.. His front shaft is pointing at the dirt (almost) gonna need some serious shimming or .. Maybe cut the perches off and reweld them with a better angle..

Eat , Drink, Mud... What else is there?

Yes i would be interested in the spare shafts, inners and outers, but i don't have the money right at the moment.

I'm getting serious death wobble at around 45, i did a search at JeepForum, and it seems as if there are a few YJ that have the problem too, i agree i don't want to run a trac bar, but i cant handle the wobble. I would love to try to cut and reweld the perches, but it took me over 2 hours to drive home from New Orleans the other night (driving about 40 the whole way) and it was frustrating. I gotta figure something out soon, so i can keep driving this thing....

If you know of anyone that has some stock YJ shackles (4" long) please let me know, thats another thing i'm trying to change with the front.

DW with the right setup can occur even with leafs, I read about it alot with people who run huge tires with D60's.....

The fix can be made by caster adjustment, additional steering stabalizers, sway bars etc......some times it takes one, none or all to fix....

Leafs arent completely trouble free, from everything I've read its usually in general the dead weight of the tire is either too much for the leafs, too much for the axle or too much for the steering stabalizer to handle. It can get scary, I believe Jeff had a case of major bump steer or DW with his jeep for awhile as well.

Reggie are the tires balanced? Anything to brace the axle will help, shorter shackles may be an answer as well.

From all the rading I did on DW when I had it ... you don't wanna slap a big stablizer on there. You'll just mask the real problem.... A worn/weak stablizer won't cause DW is what I'm saying. First trip back from Red Creek I had no stablizer with 33s and no DW.... The usual causes I found were #1 Bad Alignment. .... other causes were worn steering or suspension bushings or TREs, bad tracbars (coil setups) & unbalanced tires.

I think shorther shackles may help, thats why I'm looking for stock shackles as well, but mostly I think you should re do the perches....

Anyway, how long are the shackles you have? If I end up needing longer shackles perhaps a trade for shafts may be possible.

If i can't get these perches cut and rewelded by this weekend, (i'm in school mon-thurs, as well as work Mon-Fri 6am-12pm) I might end up having to pay a shop to do it
