Lousy cast starter housing. The one ear that didn't break was the only one not being used. Two bolt housing pattern is why.

My second Bronco, picked it up stock and cheap cuz 3 teeth broke off the fly wheel and it would't start. Payed money, turned crank with wrench, started motor, drove away.
