A few of us stopped at Fort Stevens State Part, just south of the Columbia River, on the way home to spend some more time on the beach and fly kites.

Just as we were about to leave a six year old child turned up missing and we joined in the search. Two of us went
south and two of us went north searching along the beach. We found him 1 mile north from the parking area where he
was last seen. (5/12/2002)
