i started the quick and dirty way of getting the brakes off. but i didn't finish. there's the backing plate with most of the springs and both shoes removed.

inside of cover after initial cleaning with brake cleaner. you can't see it in this pic but i marked the bottom and top of the cover so when i go to armor plate the bottom half i don't goof up and plate the side or something.

i found a thouro writeup on putting disk brakes with a parking brake on a sterling. this is one of the spacers before i cleaned up the curve and drilled the holes.
