Some pictures of what I started with.
First cuts on the test subject.
First step, determining if I can make a removable window frame.
Plating the door with a female receiver for the window frame.
The post that comes out of the window frame and into the door.
And now to see about the top.
So this is what is under there.
What it looks like. I left the roof section that the door seals against to determine dimensions for the lexan.
Area that will need to be closed off.
Needed to stretch my legs.
Lexan in with the window window guides in the roof.
This was when I decided I could do this to the truck I liked.
The surgery begins on the Blue Bronco.
Post for the window frame.
NO GOING BACK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Decided to rivet the window guides in, instead of welding, makes it less permanent in case I need to change something, and my welding isn't all that good....but you already knew that.
My good friend Shane Durham helping a little on the project.
He's really getting into it.
Trying my hand at some bondo work.
Time to cut the rest of the roof out.
The headboard removed and cut to size. This was much harder to do then the headliner on the Cent as the board was made of foam, instead of cardboard, broke into 5 different pieces, and was a lot less sturdy to work with.
The 'some-what' finished product. I'd say I'm 95% finished.
