Gettin towed to the temporary garage...a 2 bay storage unit rented for 280 a month...2 weeks was 140 bucks...much cheaper than paying someone to do all this work since I did not have a garage...
She's in...plenty of room. Had to air down the tires and take off my lightbar and modify the garage doors there, but she got in...

The cherry picker arrives in the lead sled...driven by my friend Ned....or so he said, it's painted red...ok enough rhyming
Here is Ned...without him I wouldnt have been able to do this. He arranged for the 460 to be shipped to his shop Horsepower Unlimited, put me in contact with their rebuilder who did a bang up job with it, and let me borrow his tools and the shops cherry picker, even delivering it and helping with the removal. Thanks alot Ned

Ned hookin the old 302 up...
Since Ned had to leave to go to the Panthers game, I had to get it out myself. Due to me taking shortcuts I left the exhaust manifolds connected to the Y pipe figuring they would slide off the block...they didnt, and it took forever to get the motor out.

She's out! And a little lighter in the front end too!

Freshly remanufactored 460 being mated to rebuilt C6...

Mike Fletcher on the left and Bill on the right. Mike helped alot with this project as well, couldnt have done it without him either.

The new 460 sits in so nice and purdy! I cant help but smile...
We made a mess....but we're done with the cherry picker at least...
And an even bigger mess over here...

Cut my frame thinking I needed room for my oil cooler hoses, but as it turned out I had enough room to point the filter a little to the front parallel with the crossmember, and the hoses ran straight out to the front, eliminating any bends and the need for me to cut the frame, oh well...
Lookin more and more like a real engine now...

Puttin her back together...

Oil cooler just kinda thrown on there, still has the shipping label on it
Priming the engine with the biggest drill Home Depot had since nothing else I had or borrowed had enough juice to pump oil through my engine. Also Im out of old jackets and since its 30 degrees outside and that little stupid electric heater sucks Im using my nice work jacket...
Oil pump driveshaft is in the middle...a dropped socket might be disastrous, so be careful and tape the crap out of it to the extension.

When your toolbox does not include a funnel, and you are sick of going out and buying tools you dont have, you improvise. Here, cut off one of my horns that didnt work anyway and used it to pour my transmission fluid in. Brilliant

AC compresser is gonna sit on top until I get a AC/PS bracket...to make a long story short I didnt have a Sag bracket and wanted one to use my sag pump.
Dagnabit! Either I'm not gettin spark or the timing gun wont work!! Oh....no wonder...
My other godsend, Jim...goes to Nascar Technical Institute in Mooresville, NC...knows his stuff for the most part...right about this time he shorted out my ignition switch and blew a fusible link, but we didnt know this at the time. He thought the spark he saw meant it was working.
This is how the filter sits with the hoses going the best way straight out to the front. Notice the unneeded hacking of the frame, courtesy of me.
After tracking down the no-start condition due to afore mentioned blown fusible link, and tracking down a no-spark situation due to afore mentioned unplugged timing gun, I spent 2 days and alot of phone calls, and alot of conversations with Ford mechanics learning how my injectors fire and what makes them fire since my injectors werent firing. The techs at the Ford dealership in Mooresville pulled out all the books and after about 4 of them talked about it for a few minutes one of them pointed to 2 grounds and said check these, these will make your EEC do crazy things...and damn if one of them wasnt connected...

My broken rigged up throttle cable fits right in without any problems, so does the non working cruise control cable.
Puttin her back together! Sold my old tires and rims to Mike, so I got some goofy lookin things on there till I can put my 37's on...which wont be until I get power steering...which wont be until I get a bracket that will take the sag pump.

On initial startup Jim hollered at me to stop since tranny fluid was goin everywhere...turned out to be a broken metal line.
