Next day we decided to play Tourists. When we woke up around 2pm, we went to check out The Clagamore, a retired WW2 submarine on exhibit by the Yorktown. BADASS

Of course we went everywhere we could, even if we werent supposed to.

One of the 4 diesel engines in the sub. This engine room would be 110 degrees+ if the sub was running.

On to the Yorktown, to see where else we can go that we're not supposed to.

So we looked at all the cool planes and exhibits for a while. This ship and its exhibits are extremely cool.

So it didnt take us long to find a way to get somewhere off limits. Down to the engine room we go.

So this is a couple decks below where your supposed to be walking. Notice nothing is clean or painted. There is crap everywhere like you just stepped back into WW2. Very very cool.

I have no idea what any of this stuff does but that looks like a boiler. If they had boilers on this ship. All I know is there was alot of valves everywhere.

Some kinda workbench or something. It had alot of cool stuff in those boxes. Bigass bolts etc.

The potential for injury down there was extremely high. The potential for cell phone loss if dropped was absolute.

From the bottom we go to the top. They had closed the top levels of the bridge for renovation. We thought it looked fine when we went up there. This is the helm.

While I was investigating the ship's overhaul logbooks dated 1968 in a storage room I found, Pete and the rest went up to the top of the bridge. Unless you climb the mast, you physically cant go higher. This mast has all the antennas and radar things on it.

Sticky Fingers in Charleston. I know I said Michelbobs in Naples, FL is the best ribs ever, but I havent been to Sticky Fingers in 9 years. Sticky Fingers has Michelbobs daddy on size of the ribs, slightly better as far as tenderness, but its a toss up when it comes to taste.

So they had a contest. If you ate a full rack and 2 sides you got a free t-shirt. Sound easy? I wish I had a picture of the rack. You'd shut up real quick. I'm hurtin, workin on my last few baked beans.

When we picked up our 4 free shirts (the girls didnt want to try), I saw a picture of Mr. Bush getting Sticky Fingers take-out. Michelbobs doesnt have that.

After hitting the bars in Charleston the night before, we leave Charleston International/AFB. I'll never get tired of taxiing around airlines. Makes you feel really important and badass.

The Air Force C-17 is based here. They are big.

So its me and pete left on this trip, the other guys went back to Daytona for work and stuff. Us slackers head off to Charlotte. On the way we get a traffic call "N139ER traffic 1-2 o-clock 10,000 feet fast moving 2 F-18's." Gluing our eyes to the 1-2 o clock position we find "Viper 21" formation. I wish my callsign was Viper 21.

So after an old buddy Kevin Starnes picks us up at the airport, we go to the fire station where I surprise a few people by my sudden presence after a year hiatus. Play some ping pong, kill some time, and Michael Dean gets off work. Time to go to the hotel and party.

4 friends show up at the hotel to pregame. OK. I need 4 pages of space to tell the story of the hotel room in Charleston. It took an hour and a half at 3:30am to get in it because the front desk guy was a retard. The cops even showed up. Its a long story. This hotel was the total opposite. A 2 room suite for 49 dollars. There is a God. But we had to ride in the back of Deans truck across the street in ridiculously cold weather.

Safe and sound at Coyote Joes. Justin Pollard was nice enough to hook us up with some free tickets, as he promised at the Charleston show.

Before I even made it inside I got pulled out of line by the ALE to see if I was 21. They dont mess around.
