My ZJ has a 318 CID, 5.2L Sequentially Fuel Injected Pushrod V8.
It has a 54mm throttle body from a 1996 Dodge Ram. That is 2mm bigger than stock.
It also has a K&N FIPK2 Cold Air Intake Kit.
It has a slightly modified OEM exhaust from the previous owner.
I'll update this when I do more to it. Lot's of plans for this guy....... |

It has the stock 4-speed automatic trans that is starting to go out.
It has a DANA 30 up front and a DANA 44 in back with the stock aluminum housing and steel axle tubes.
Both have 3.73 gears, peg-leg (non-posi).
It has an NP247 transfer case which is not made to handle power..... which is what I'm going for.

I bought the car from a guy on the north side of Chicago. I've already made it my own with the coconut air freshener.
This winter I am doing the unthinkable..... I am lowering my ZJ 3 inches.
It is also getting a brand new ignition system.
Eventually I build an extremely powerful 5.9L bored and stroked with parts from VSI. I'm making the high-performance orientated Jeep they never made back then. I'm getting R/T badging for it. and calling it the Jeep R/T-8. This is going to be one bad Jeep when I'm done. It will have a completely new drivetrain except for the trans which is getting gears and a shift kit or if I have lots of money I will drop a six-speed from a Viper in it. If you anyone has more suggestions on how to make this thing badder, let me know. |
