On my '86 Bronco the air pump is where I was expecting the alt to be (based on other write ups).

This is underneath looking up. The alt goes on that bracket (left center) and the bottom attaches to the swing arm (right center). The air pump pulley can be seen above the alt mounting bracket.

This is how the alt goes in from underneath. Takes a little wiggling to get both arms in and out.

All hooked up from the top. I had to get an extended belt for the air pump. I asked for 2 inches if I remember correctly. 1 or 1.5 probably would have been better as I almost max out its movement. The belt I got from napa was 38-7325 IIRC...That was one of the points of this image but the number is too blurry.
