My Bronco: Drop brackets and sheer walls don't mix. Note the ripped frame.

Brother's Jeep: A little driveshaft problem
My Bronco: Small steering problem while on a leasurely drive...alone...in the winter...in the snow
Bronco: Stupid little bush busted my tail light as I backed down a ditch. I'll chainsaw his ass next time I'm there!
Bronco: The same stupid bush nearly ripped off my tailpipe!
Brother's Willys: First radius arm design was inferior. That's why you do a slow speed shakedown run before hitting the streets, right?
Willys: Had to get creative to get it home, sort of a cable Z-Link suspension
Willys: My brother mentioned his steering was acting funny, but we figured out the problem right away...gotta watch out for those floaters during water crossings!

How your tow vehicle's shackles should look...(provided you live in the salt belt and are used to the shear rust it causes)
...how your tow vehicle's shackles should NOT look! WTF? How does this happen to a 13 year old truck? Even for WI, this is extreme.

You've heard of the Killer Dowel Pin on a Cummins, right?

Yeah, well, if you have a diesel Dodge, better patch that MF'er...I thought it was already done...I was wrong. 205,300 miles and I'm up a sh!t creek. At least I can still fix it!

This is why I need / get to swap a 4BT into my Bronco. Its a little hard to see, but the pistons in Cyl1 and Cyl5 are twisted, indicating the rods below are not connected. I haven't gotten the pan off yet to see just how bad / impressive the damage is!
Here's where I punched a couple holes in the pan...
...and one in the block...
...put a nice dent in the pan, too...
Here's the mangled remains of #5. Snapped the piston rod.
A chunk of metal plugged the rod bearing oil passage on #1. It got so hot it pealed the paint off.
Then the cap on #1 snapped, which bounced it around pretty good and broke it a lot!
Piston skirt snapped off on both sides, on this side right up to the oil ring.
