First Antlered Buck in 9 years!

I was stoked!

Green scored just under 98", my previous decent buck was just over 98", I am still looking for the first 3-digit beauty

Slaughtered my previous largest musky record by 6.5 inches! This one tapes out to 44.5"! It was a slob-monster!

I was seriously stoked!

WOW! What a 2006! I went to Wyoming...arrowed a 4x4 muley. Videoed my brother arrow a 4x4 whitetail, my brother shoot a B&C pronghorn, my buddy shoot a decent pronghorn...and then I shot this monster Sunday morning opening weekend!

Muley split, double crab claw, bladed G2, 11 points... 165 inches of antler!

Shot at ~15 yards...through a hole I picked out in the scope somewhere in that brush!

Still in shock...what a deer!

I figured I couldn't mention a B&C animal, and not post a picture! 19", or something like that. Ivory tips, but one broken off. Have you ever smelled a pronghorn? Imagine Sagebrush, BO, and Cool Ranch Doritos...that's a pronghorn! STINK!

I fished my first (but not my last!) musky tournament with my uncle Sept 22-23; The Hodag Musky Challenge. He caught this 37.5" Saturday.

And I caught one Sunday...43 5/8"...but they round down to the nearest 1/4" for the tourney...so it only counted as 43.5".

And those 2 fish got us 2rd place...until the last 30minutes of the tournament, when we got bumped to third by the team that took 1st overall!

1st place team: 3 fish, about the same size as our two...just one extra!
2nd place team: 48" and 39"...nice fish!

Things have been a LITTLE flooded around here lately...

How NOT to haul a trailer #1.
This lesson on how not to do things seems to totally escape some people. I'd love to see how the trip ended up but I feel confident he ended up in a ravine somewhere wondering why bad things seems to always happen to him.

He's hooked up and ready to fly!! It's amazing how the extra weight really smoothed out the ride in the truck. He did have to air up the rear tires a bit (around 160 psi)

He added some heavy-duty chain for extra support on the tailgate (note that he used the 'Heavy-Duty 'S' hooks to attach the chain) He also paid-up for some BIG 5/16 sheetmetal screws to attach the frame to the tailgate. Yeah, he knows it's overkill, but he didn't want the possibility of having an accident.


Much of his time was spent on his front porch whittling down that MASSIVE 4x4 board to fit precisely into the ball mount receiver. Also note that he used a 14' piece of 1x4 to help distribute the load more evenly--'YOU CAN'T BE TOO SAFE, YOU KNOW!!'. ' It cost a little more, but you just can't be too safe when pulling a trailer of this magnitude !!'.

Look out Utah , cause here he comes !!!

That tuft of hair out of place on his front leg is where the arrow nearly came out: strong quartering and a perfect shot!

Shot at 8yds as he came RIGHT to my Doe-in-heat wafer! First time I've ever had a buck actually show interest in my scents I've used.
