View of the backside of the Mustang Cluster
From a 94-95 Mustang GT
|

The Mustang cluster uses the external resistor. If I had the functional oil pressure switch, I would've jumped this resistor to make the gauge fulyl functional right then - but I'll do it later on

The anti-slosh. The unused trace is for a low fuel light. I may add a small yellow LED to serve as this. In order to let the cluster fit, I had to use an anti-slosh from a 98-02 CV/GM cluster. The one in the stang cluster, and my Marquis' stock cluster were too wide, as I had to cut 3/8" off each side of the cluster to let it fit

View of the backside of my stock cluster. In perfect shape. That black residue you see is just goop from the harness tape ford uses.
You can also see that same 20 ohm resistor. Ford stopped using the external resistor in 97 and made it integral to the oil press gauge itself.

Stang cluster sitting in the stock opening, after being cut down
Not mounted in any fashion, working on brackets

Testing a bracket set.
Mounted. Kind of. Crooked as hell. Had to take it out and try again.

I got it trimmed out tonight. It was too dark to get any good pics, I'll take some more soon. Here are some night shots

The following pictures were after more tweaks. I repositioned the cluster higher up. But, I put it too high now. Ugh. Needs a custom made dash bezel to look right, stay tuned within the next few weeks for a subfolder with updates Still a work in progress of course, will update as I get more done to it. EDIT - check out the mostly-finished product here: http://www.supermotors.net/registry/7603/62684
