No Crown Vic/Grand Marquis ever had courtesy lamps in the rear doors. However, that did not stop me from installing them. Here are the chrome lamps I purchased, masked and ready to be painted.

To gain access to the wiring tunnel between the body and the door, you must remove the panel that covers the seat belt track.

I used a coathanger to snake up through the door. Note the cut red wire and ground wire. Apparently something else from my Vic's days with the Feds.

There is little space inside the doors, so I used pliers to grab the end of the coathanger and pull it through.

Here you can see where I spliced into the turn signal wire and attached a new wire that will attach to the ground wire of the marker lamp.

Cut the ground (black wire) on the marker lamp and attach it to the wire that is spliced on the turn signal wire.

I wrapped up the new wire with wire loom and covered up the splice with a section of larger wire loom. Then I sealed up everything with electrical tape.

Next, the marker lamp's ground wire is connected to the new wire from the turn signal. Be sure and cover up the other, unused end of the ground wire. After this picture was taken. Everything was sealed up with electrical tape.

There is less room to run wiring on the driver's side. I ended up removing the Marauder Airbox so I could run the wire and it's wire loom in the corridor between the engine compartment and the front fascia. You can see the wire loom in this picture.
