The OEM push button traction control switch had to be pressed every time I started to car to disable traction control. I replaced it with a SPST switch that keeps the traction control turned off, unless I choose to turn traction control on for foul weather. Pictured here is the OEM push button switch.

To gain more access, I removed the glove box by removing it's three screws. Pictures here, is a socket with an extension, removing the black screws.

The OEM switch is located in the glove box on my '98 P71. Later model Crown Victorias and Grand Marquis received a relocated traction control button on the dash. Pictured here is the OEM switch and it's harness.

In order for the new SPST flip switch to fit the OEM blade-style harness, I had to use a file to thin down the SPST's connector blades.

I used a 3/4" hole saw to widen the hole for the new SPST switch and then installed the new switch. It looks OEM and keeps the traction control turned off, even at start-up, unless I flip the switch. I'll post some less blurry pics later.
