First post
Traded in 00 for 03 Eddie Bauer.

Engine eat turbo AT 50 MILES not a great start.
Here are the finer points.
The ride has changed ,tighter more steering responce, feels great, The X came with factory rear sway bay this time 30mm dia ,makes the truck turn not roll. Have they changed anything up front?

Fuel filler neck has changed as well full diameter of neck not reduced so now you can put the big nozzel in with the ring on the end.

Does anybody no were to purchase flow through exhaust??

Does your '03 have the 7.3L or 6.0L PSD?

With regards to exhaust -- Western Diesel would be a good start, Hypermax is also an option if you're going to run a hotter chip.

Greg, torque band is so wide that there is little difference in all gears. My old 7.3 would have great torque in fouth but no real thottle responce, that has changed.Go means go on this pedel.

I have a 30' RV so I am looking forward to loading up my crew (wife, five small crew members, bikes, coolers - BEER,) so using the TOW/HAUL mode should prove interesting.

(03)4X4,full load,husky liners,stainless sill plates,stainless grill,
quarts back up lights,

Test drove the '04 Excursion, 6.0 w/5 speed and loved it , just could not deal with the sticker shock ! Ended up going home and hitting the computer & the dealer where I got my X happened to have a BLACKED out 2003 X w/all the goodies... Long story short, I ended up there and a couple of hours later I was on my way home with the new ride!

Why did I do it, no reason as I had no complains about mine but the chance to be newer and have 71,000 less miles for almost the same money could not be passed up... Looks like the No Bounderies version that I have seen, has the 7.3 (not to loud for me) and the 5 speed (love it), front and read capt chairs, factory dvd system and 6cd in dash radio... Can't wait to get the plates so I I can hit the inspection station and than put some tint on the pictures windows on the two front doors

I am inclined to say the X was owned by a little old lady from Pasadena, 7100 miles, new car smell
and NO wear and tear on anything, I did everything BUT crawl up the tail pipe looking for a reason not to take it

I think you may have been a little misinformed....
the 5 speed only comes with the 6.0L... all 7.3L x's have the 4 speed....

And as far as noise levels, the latest flash on the 6.0's disabled the pilot injection and now they are ALMOST as loud as the 7.3's at idle...

Some have even started the DSB because of the increase in noise....
The 6.0 was so quiet at idle, I never had to shut down and drive thru's until recently - now it's off all the time just like my '02 7.3L if I want to hear....
