Slightly off-topic but I must scold you for making such a comment. Tim "the tool man" Taylor would be devastated if he ever heard a man spew such blasphemy out loud!!!! ;)
Just kidding around...
The 6.0L is a dream. If I ever have an opportunity to buy a 6.0L X, I'm going for it. | Sorry Eric,
You're absolutely correct. Tim's my hero, everyone please disregard my prior babble.
The wife and I were out front detailing it and talking about trading for a diesel. Maybe a few too many before posting . |

i would not jump on the 6.0 quite yet. Ford has a big problem that is not fixed yet. i spent today playing with my friends 6.0. this truck has had 9 injectors replaced, 2 transmissions, one rear end. truck has 4k miles. truck has also had 7 reflashes and does not run well cold. it has moments of granduer.it also refuses to cross an intersection sometimes. that is scary. the transmission is almost the same weak 4R100 with an extra gear and there will be failures with this one too. if you opt for the new 6.0, do not put a performance chip in it. Ford is looking for ways to kill your warranty. dont let them.

Mike,
Just got back from a 700 mile trip this weekend. We took my wife's 2003 EB Excursion with the V10 and 4WD. It has the 3.73 rear. Ford now installs BFG Rugged Tr. TA's which are E-rated so you run higher tire pressures. Long story short we averaged 14.5 mpg running 75 mph plus. That's better than my 2000 when it was new. Just turned over 3000 miles. I was also happy about the ride with the suspension changes, including the rear sway bay. Just a little wander. I may add a heavier steering stabilizer and better front sway bar bushings. On other note at 80 mph get a drone from rear. Not sure about that?
