First on the intake kit, I have an Airaid and love it. If I were to do it agin now, I wouldalso consider Airforce 1. FYI, the Airaid DID have a design problem that caused a pretty loud whistle in high temps but have fixed it. They actually sent me a proto tube to try for them to see if the whitsle went away. It did. They shipped a spacer for one of the connections to fix previously shipped tubes but since then they are redesigned. Probably more that you needed to know. Try http://www.troyerperformance.com/ for the intake's and other things. Mike is a good guy that knows his stuff too, so don't hesitate calling him and asking for advice.
Now for the spacer, don't waste the money. Talk about a whistle? That thing will do it and that's about all it will do, except maybe take away a little performance. The only engine I've heard of that actually see's improvment with one is the 4.2 V6. It's a paper weight.
As far as Hellwig, great bars. And what's already been said is good advice. Install a rear bar. I'm surprised Energy Suspension won't take an order for the front sway bar kit. I had to wait for one for my Expy but they did send me one. It really does "crisp" up the front end. Ultimatly installing a pair of Hellwigs is the way to go, but adding the rear will be a huge help.
I bought my bar from www.truckperformance.com. I believe the Hellwig's for the Excursion are about $140 right now.
Good luck.

Do all the intake and throttle body kits make a whistling noise? That's one mod I am considering, but a whistling noise would drive me nuts! What about BBK kits? I know K & N makes fuel injection performance kit that i heard is a must have - even improves gas mileage - slightly that is. |
