My '02 bought in August of '02 had 45K when I traded it for the '03 in May....
That's about 5k per month... which is about the wear I put on all cars !
I guess I like to drive too much....
The '03 now has 10K - only 3K per month - I must be slowing down !

My 2002 (March 23, 02- new) 7.3 PSD 4x4 has 76,833 as of today.. OK boys- what do I win??? I bet the prize is another oil change !! I can't do the damned thigs fast enough...
BIG PROBLEM THAT JUST STARTED- LOW SPEED SURGE!!!!!!!!! HELP!!! I've heard of this complaint
before BUT this Exc has NEVER had ANY surge. All of a sudden, after sitting a week, the off-idle surge is incredible!!!
I changed and drained fuel filter- still there!! It seems like thge turbo is spooling up and down and goes away above 1200 rpm. HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!
BTW, have any of you EVER gotten over 20 mpg???
Happy Labor Day, Godfather
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
26 September 2003- Surge went away by itself. As of today 80,506 and I haven't used it in a week. I'm using my baby Diesel, the '81 VW Rabbit with 1.6 liters of traditional simple, mechanical injection. 218,000 miles with an unopened engine or trans and 40 or so MPG with the original injectors !!!! Dr Rudolf Diesel was a genius !!! Spark plugs- we don't need any stinking spark plugs!!!! |

Bought it new with about 80 miles on it in mid-August '00. It now has over 89,000 miles on it. Trans died at 87,000, other than that it has been flawless outside of the warping rotors and other common issues. Damn you Wheels and cwbyinjeep! I thought I was on the mileage mission but you two are smokin' me. I'll start catching up soon...I just moved and now have about 65 miles round-trip to work each day of the week. YEE-HA!!!
