I don't think K&N provides NO change in performance. I had a noticeable change in my '89 'Burban and in my '97 Jeep Wrangler. I noticed no change in my PSD in the little time I used one before I heard about the potential problems. I do have one in my Vi-10, though.
I think, however, they leave too much potential for human-error. One has the potential to oil the filter too much or too little. One might wait way too long to clean it, and when they do, they may not clean it well enough.

I agree with Kevin in the Respects that I have/do notice a diference on my Gas Rigs, however I don't beleave they move nearly the volume of air that a 444 cu inch Turbo diesel does, not to mention the inches2 (square inches) of the filters on the 5.4 and 6.8 V-10 are (at least close to) the same as the Diesel...meaning there is a better chance of forcing nasties past the filter. any way this is an observation not a Sceintificaly noted/charted fact. |
