Mike, thanks. Do you have some type of relationship with TTS? Im getting confused in whether I may be buying a chip from a company or an individual. Sorry, Im new in here...your probably an old hand in here and well recognised by many. Im still trying to feel my way around abit. Ok, can your chip come as a single mode (Tow) only? I don't feel I'll be reaching for an extra 110-120 hp switch. I do my real hot rodding on the water :-) Anyways, Im interested...if you can help me along here. Thanks very much - Russ. |

Steve Cole (TTS) and i go way back. I have helped him on many projects over the years, we are personal friends. If you can call; driving down Lincoln Blv. at LAX at 210 mph in a twin turbo Ferrari a working relationship, i would answer yes. . We can cut a chip to suit your needs, but remember, the race position can come in handy when you really have to move fast. The tow position is the bread winner, thats what i want to build. I dont care about the racer, but, a big shot in the behind can sometimes make your day. mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for con't to work with me here. Im interested in how this chip accomplishes what it does, wish there was some reading material that addresses what is changed and how it translates to measurable improvement. Very interesting...Im am a gearhead of sorts, but in a different world (outboard racing 2 strokes), so learning about something new here is interesting! If I go for this Tow chip, I would let you select the profile that would best suit my needs and how the vehicle will be used. That being said, the vehicle is primarily used for commutes to work. A small extra slug of power and torque available over a wide RPM range would go well. A tighter shifting xmsn would be nice too. For towing to and from a race site (2500#boat/trailer), my natural cruising speed is about 75 mph. Having best or a good range at this speed for mileage would do well. I do wish for a mileage increase. In addition to a chip I would probably switch to a K&N filter element in the filter box and open the intake of the filter inlet which is near the front of the grill. Seems to be blocked by a rubber barrier by the radiator and really doesn't get a good slug of free air. Maybe that barrier is there to block water injestion...What would be the price for one of these single position chips from you to try that could provide enhancements in the areas Im seeking? Again, thanks for taking time with me. 210mph near LAX? Which model Ferrari? Im guessing an F40 or an Enzo. :-) |

Mike, great chatting with you, thanks! Started searching for the SD-AIS intake from Motorcraft. No luck. What is the part number for the system, and, you mentioned going to a Motorcraft dealer, not a Ford dealer...whats the difference, how do you find just a Motorcraft dealer to order this part? Thanks, talk to you when I get back after this w/e and we'll go on from there. Russ |
