Good suggestion, I will think about that option.
Another way would be to reinforce the existing bump stop ear, with a brace down to the axle tube.
When installed, do thes radius rods put torsion on the axle tubes, (treating it like a sway bar) when turning a corner?
Or does that flexible bushing mount provide enough give to prevent that.
I have seen 'ladder bars' on muscle cars that actually twisted the axle tubes on a one wheel bump, or when fighting the lean on turn.

The design and bushings I use for the radius-rods will not put the axle tube, or any other suspension component, in a bind. As far as reinforcing the older style bump-stop ear (assuming you'll trim it for a GEN-II radius-rod kit), that one's going to be your decision. While I believe it is a viable thing to do, you're on your own for that modification. |

Not to be bragging, but I'm swamped! Don't worry 'cause I'll get the current orders completed as promised. However, with the holidays fast approaching, and Mrs Landyot's honey-do list not getting much attention, future orders may take a while longer than current ones.
Over 9,000 hits on this post? Cool! Though admittedly, I probably account for at least 10% of them. |

20% ??? Maybe 20% of the posts within this thread, but not that many "hits" to just view it. BTW, have you checked out "takeorf.com"? "ORF" is the airport designator for Norfolk International. |

I haven't visited the site, but I was surprised to see the billboards when I drove through in September. I also have a couple of old suitcases with the baggage ticket from Norfolk still attached. My wife thinks I'm a geek. |

I have axle wrap but also wheel my truck a little....Will these bars cause me to loose articulation and are there any pictures posted any where.

rab986 - There are some pix in my gallery (click on my userbame to get part way there ... you can also send me an e-mail & I'll reply with an "info-pack" about the R-rods). The radius-rods do not impact articulation ... was one of my design considerations. Speaking of articulation, have you ever seen the device that allows the axles to articulate WITHOUT twisting the leaf springs? I've never seen them offered commercially, but was an interesting item I found while researching the USPTO website. Basically, they hinge the connection between axle and leaf spring stack ... the hinge pin is longitudinal.
Everyone - I will not be accepting any new orders until around Christmas. If you mailed one postmarked yesterday (10/16/04) or earlier, I will complete it ... but no more until Christmas. |

I got my Gen II radius rods last week. Ken, I'm another raving fan! I haven't yet had the chance to get them installed, and probably won't for a while yet (but the Ex hasn't been out of the garage in over a month...) but they are truly a work of art! The quality of the craftsmanship and the obvious thought that has gone into the design is incredible! I won't be towing the 34' Airstream now again until spring... and I probably won't actually be able to get them installed until sometime next month, and so I won't be able to give them their best workout for a few months, but I wanted to say 'THANKS'!
