I have once again updated the "Sponsor Topics" post to say that I've started another waiting list for those who wish to receive an e-mail notification of when I start the next batch. Right now, I'm thinking that may be sometime around September '05.

Well, this latest batch is fabricated, welded, and painted. I'll start assembling and boxing tomorrow. Once that's complete, and they're shipped, I'll be off for the summer (off from building radius-rods anyway).

Either I'm losing my touch, or most folks figure everyone else is just plain tired of reading "radius-rod posts." This latest batch has been completed, pat-dry, boxed, shipped, and not one person has said a word here about them. I do realize many folks do not install them right away, but this recent non-posting has me baffled. Oh well.

The waiting list is slowly growing for the next batch, which should start near September. After this next batch, I'm thinking of taking about 6 months off. During some of that time, I hope to build up an inventory of radius-rod kits so folks won't have to wait 2 to 6 weeks for them.

Iwould like to be put on the waiting list
I would be happy with a 2 week wait, looks like i will be waiting 12
But I have been told these are the ticket
Just wish I had them now for towing the boat this summer.

Unfortunately, I am in the "not installed yet" catagory. The pieces look great, and I hope to do the install soon.

The other day, the wife took the Ex on her daily commute down the highway and was attempting to travel her usual 75 mph. She called me from her cell to ask why the truck was "wandering" all over the road (she used that exact term). And just like that, I had my justification for buying the rods.

So now we both look forward to the improvements. I'll post the results after we get some time in the saddle.

[quote] Hi Gang and Happy 4th of July! Chalk me up as another satisfied customer of Landyot's radius rods. Once you have them installed, the ride difference will be noticeable!

I've got a 2002 7.3 diesel 4x4 Excursion Limited which I bought new in 09/02. With 45,000 miles on "The Barge", I've got a pretty good idea as to how it rides stock vs adding stuff to the engine or suspension. The initial changes done were to the engine by adding the Banks Powerpack. Boy, did that help in pulling or 30' travel trailer all over the western U.S..

This year's mods concentrated on the suspension, where we added Rancho 9000x shocks, Rancho steering stabilizer, Hellwig front and rear sway bars, Air Lift airbags on the rear, V code front leaf springs and LandYot's radius rods. Needless to say the Ex isn't anywhere near to riding like it was in stock form. The radius rods arrived in perfect shape. I found a little shop out here run by a couple of guys who specialize in building off-road trucks and suspensions for trucks and buggys running races down in Baja and who said they could handle the traction bar cutting and install. When I came back in the afternoon to pick up my truck, the one owner had all kinds of questions about the rods. He loved the workmanship and his first question was "Where did you get these things?". He said the instructions were right on the money and between the quality of the product and the supplied instructions and diagrams the install was a no brainer. He took a little over two hours on the job but said he took his time since it was a first timer for him with the parts and he wanted to make sure he was doing it right. His second comment was "Wait until you drive this thing". He said he didn't know how it wasa driving before but on the test drive he said he he had never driven anything that big that handled that nice. His actual comment was "This thing is sweet". Driving the Ex home after picking it up, I would have to agree with his assessment .

Thanks Ken, for a great product!

The following link has been updated to reflect that I'm starting another batch of radius-rods.

BTW, after this batch, I'll be taking a very long break from the radius-rods. The next batch may not start until March or April of 2006. On the plus side, I'll be making some changes in 2006 so I'll be able to ship within a couple days of order receipt versus a few weeks.

Anybody care to respond to this fellow over at the "other" forum?
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=407965

I would, but "LANDYOT" was banned from making anymore posts there.

"Quietman" came to the rescue! Thanx, Q! An award? For me? My reward is the little bit of $$$ I make off these things, but the big reward is all the praise the radius-rods have earned. And that is what has made this a very rewarding endeavor for me. I'm glad so many folks have fallen in love with their Excursion all over again.
