Happy New Year everyone.
Finally got a chance to install my Gen II radius rods yesterday.Took about an hour to install. The only cutting I had to do was on the plastic nipple on the rear leaf springs. My 2wd does not have the bump stop that needs to be trimmed. The rear bump stop is the axle itself. Anyways, let me be the next person in a long line to sing the praises of these wonderful creations. I didn't know what I was missing till I took it for a drive. Much improved ride/handling/control. Thanks to Ken (Landyot) for answering a few questions I had along the way, even though I bought them second hand from Joe Frisinger. Ken, You are truly a class act . I'm hoping to take some pictures of this and other items I've installed and post 'em. Once again, THANK YOU, KEN for a GREAT PRODUCT

Again, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who've been very gracious with your comments. Thanks! I've been setting up my equipment this past week, and started cutting steel today for the next batch. |

superduty59 --- First things first ... WELCOME to the forum!!! To get information on the radius-rods, click on my username & send me an e-mail (subject: radius-rods). Also, the following link is where I keep my current status posted:
http://www.supermotors.org/clubs/fordexcursions/forums/posts.php?threadid=4523 The rear Hellwig anti-swaybar can be purchased from J.C.Whitney or Summit Racing (plus a few other places), and makes an excellent upgrade for your X. Speaking of which, here's another link for the top five "must do" modifications for any Excursion:
http://www.supermotors.org/clubs/fordexcursions/articles/article_2/index.php In regards to your entertainment center question, please allow me to suggest that you start a new thread to ask that question because many folks won't think of looking in this thread for DVD questions, and/or use the search function above to find existing threads/posts about that subject.
Again, welcome, and good luck with the search for your answer.
Ken

Hang in there a lil' while longer y'all! The '06 batch will soon be available, including the new GEN-IV weld-on radius-rod kit. Don't ask for the particulars just yet because I'm still revising the radius-rod info-pack. Once it's ready, the post at the following link will be updated.

Just to make certain that the new GEN-IV weld-on kit will work without problems (and I'm waiting on my supplier to send me parts so I can build more kits), I spent this afternoon installing a GEN-IV kit on my truck. This is how I originally wanted to build the radius-rods.
The hard part? Taking my old GEN-II kit OFF! I banged an elbow, cut my knee, and busted myself in the chops trying to break nuts & bolts loose on the ol' GEN-II ... yeah, you can laugh ... I did. That GEN-II had been under my truck for about 2-1/2 years. On the positive side, the ol' G-II was in great shape. I may clean it up, replace the hardware, and see if anyone wants it.
The GEN-IV went on a whole lot easier than I had originally thought. I admit that I was pleased with myself. Plus, I now know that others will not have any problems installing one of these.
Wanna see pix of the install? Go to this link ...
http://www.supermotors.org/vehicles/registry/detail.php?id=9739&s=34126#content One more thing -- The small red poly-bushings shown at the front of these radius-rods are standard equipment on all of the kits. BUT, I do not offer the large red poly-bushings shown at the rear of these rods. The kits are shipped with black high-durometer Ford bushings at the rear. I run these poly-bushings with the intent of putting more stress on the whole kit so I may identify any weaknesses through my driving with them. Those same large poly-bushings spent 2-1/2 years on the ol' GEN-II kit I removed from my truck today. |

Well, in response to the number of folks who can only use the GEN-I style radius-rods, it looks like they won't go across the chopping block after all. I will continue producing the GEN-I kits to suit those 4WD folks who have Ride-Rite air-bags, and for all the 2WD folks who use any brand of air-bags.
The Ride-Rite bags utilize a clamp on 4WD models that drops down below the bump-stop and wraps all the way around the axle tube, thereby making it impossible to use the GEN-III & GEN-IV radius-rods. The 2WD models always have the bags attached directly to the axle-tube because they don't have the same metal bump-stop as the 4WDs ... in fact, the 2WDs bump-stop is the axle-tube itself. |
