I put a gibson cat back on my 2002 XLT V10. I got it installed in just over an hour. It's got more sound than stock (which had none) but it still relatively quite. I like it. Now If I could just fine time to install the Gibson shorty headers. I'd recommend changing the muffler and keeping the tail pipe as it is pretty big stock. Muffler shops here in NYC are like politicians, always trying to get into your pockets which is why I bought the kit and did it myself. For me it was cheaper. After the headers I'll have to find a shop to make a new Y-pipe to finish things off. |

| Quote: | Want a different sound? Try an Aero Turbine. Free flow is an understatement. It'll bark like a dog and purr like a kitten. I'm working on getting a sound clip for all to hear.
Oh, and you only have to do a muffler swap, the V10's have 3" exhaust and you can get a 3" in and out aero turbine. Check it out at www.aero-turbine.com | What We need to know is how loud is it inside? How loud at 65mph? I will buy one tomorrow if its queit inside the cabin. I tow to damn much to have a muffler scream at me...I got married for that!

I have an 03 5.4V8 and installed a Gibson cat back. Installed price was under 500.00 and it made a big difference. It sounds sweet too without being obnoxious inside or outside

My soundclip is now on www.exhaustsoundclips.com. I have written a lot about my exhaust over on the ford truck enthusiasts. There are some links there to some larger sound clips. Sure it is louder inside, but you can carry on normal conversations with everyone in the vehicle. My wife gives it two thumbs up. |
