that is what I was thinking...frame of mind you could say! (regarding to NOS)

Um I have a couple of more questions!

When I put in my lift (2.5" susp.), is it safe to do myself? I'm more then just a handyman around the house. I have much expirience working on cars, but not susp. lifts. If it is safe (considering because of the cost diff!), What should I be aware of? TIPS???!!!!! Anyway... my friend has a dodge with a 9" lift, and he was saying I would have to lok into getting steering stabilizers...what should I do? He said one stabilizer would work fine...hhmmm. By the way, I'm looking at fabtech...woohoo!!!

I am so stoked about doing this! Can't wait to put in the exhaust! You folks have got me buzzin!

have fun,
DX

1. Larger exhaust is a must to keep the EGT's (exhaust gas temps) down. EGT's are the killer of turbo's and over 1200 degrees will fry the impellers. 4" from turbo down pipe to the tail is best and this will keep the temp between 600-900 degrees post turbo under full load. The old fabled tale the larger the pipe the less back pressure and velocity causing slow spool of the turbo. This is not true in the diesel world. Heck if I could fit a 6" pipe on my turbo I would. This gained me 22hp and an extra 2mpg. This will run $395-$600+ depending on Aluminum or Stainless

Ok, i cant watch this, it isnt a good idea to mount the pyro post turbo, there is way too much variation post turbo, and it is usually several hundred degrees lower of a reading than pre turbo.
also you can go 3.5" downpipe, and 4" the rest of the way and will give good results, if you go with a 4" downpipe and 4" all the ways back you will lose low end torque, but it will help with the EGT's. you only need 4" downpipe if you are doing some major mods, such as large injectors 530's, a very hot chip, and pane or nos. otherwise you will lose low end torque.

just my 2 cents

i would recommend a nice 4" exhaust with a 3.5" downpipe, there are many nice sets out there, banks, dppi, magnaflow, and others, from what i have seen the DPPI seems like a real nice setup, and is cheaper than other brands http://www.dieselperformanceparts.com/ford.html
