I am not a transmission shop customer. 
Towing in OD is okay. The TC is locked.

You can tow in OD as long as trans isn't hunting for gears "excessive shifting". You can install a manual torque converter lock up switch and keep it locked. Here's the instructions for making this modification, http://www.forgotton.net/mods/tclock/index.htm .
Heat kills Transmissions Period! Get a trans temp guage too!
