I want somewhere between a 3 to 4 inch lift that will firm up the supension front and rear on my 2000 X 4wd. However I don't want be be riding around on a total rock either.
I was considering swapping all my springs front and rear with T or U code springs. This would give me between 1.22" to 1.42" lift (according to the chart) and firm up the supension a bit. This would not be as stiff as V codes. (plus I can get a set of U's very reasonable from a friend)
Then I want to install 2" spring relocation brackets in the front. This adds lift as you know without changing the spring charectoristics. I was considering adding a 1" softride spring to the rear.
Total estimated lift front - 3.22 to 3.42" Slightly firmer. Rear - 2.22 to 2.42 slightly firmer to moderetly firmer. This plan should also slightly level out the stance; however I like it higher in the back because when I load my just over 6000lb boat on the hitch it currently levels out.
I need to install a track bar relocation bracket I assume as well as new shocks.
Does anyone know if the F250 superduty pitman arm is longer than the X pittman arm, if so will it fit the X and finally if it would be needed to help compensate for the hight differences. The F250 has a slight height advantage on the X as you know. (should I even worry about this)
Does this sound like a mechanicly resonable plan?? Economicly speaking it is reasonable.
I don't like the thought of more block height in the back. I hope to reduce axle wrap tendencies with thicker firmer springs instead of increasing it with blocks.
Eventually I will probably install LandYots custom radius rods with hellwig anti_sway bars.

Your front plan sounds fine if that's what you want. I predict it will not provid a very good ride though.
You plan to put a leveling kit in the front anyway so why not just put a 3.5" or 4.5" hanger on the front and keep the C code springs. After you put Bilstein 5100's on you will find them more than acceptable. U code springs are noticeably stiffer.
An add-a-leaf will make the truck bounce and ride like a rock in the rear. With a 3.5" hanger lift you don't need but an extra 1" of block in the rear and 2" with a 4.5". The Excursion has a stock 2" block and if you check out the aforementioned " Jack It " suspension site they reference 4 inch blocks in 350 SD's. A four inch block is not a problem - an eight inch one is.
Add the radius rods, Hellwig bar, a good set of quality blocks, new u-bolts and you will be set.

Ok, I went back and reread the info on previous posts concerning lifts. If I use the edge 4.5", I can install 315/75/16's with no problems according to the Donahoe website.
If I go with the 3.5" lift and trim or shim the bumper will the 315's fit without rubbing? Does anyone know? I want to keep the truck as low as possible but be able to clear up any rubbing issues. I want to use 315's
Also another ??
Will the 315's work with 10" rims using the 4.5 lift? or do I need 8" rims. Will I need trimming? if I use 10" rims and 4.5" lift. Will the 3.5" kit work if I use 8" rims?
I went to the donahoe website it dosent mention rim sizes in it's descriptive information.
I Hate to beat a dead horse anymore, but I am freaking loosing my mind here.
