Woo-Hoo !!!!
went out during their test and tune day on this GEORGEOUS day !!!
LOT'S of ROCKET ships out there - and then here comes my big beast... most of these people used the SD and/or Ex as towing vehicles !
but we still had fun...
my first match was with this tricked out little thing with tires that looked about 5 foot wide...
I had NO idea how this was going to work...
but the guy with me had fun telling the rook how to do it !!!
The truck and Predator did their part...
but I really handicapped them !!!
Will scan this in later... but here's the ugly story for the Ex, Predator and turbo back.... the rest is stock...
reaction 1.0229 (told you it was ugly !)
60 ft - 2.35 - the truck was TRYING to make up for me !
330 - 6.26 - the Predator shifting was better than ANYTHING !
1/8 - 9.62 @ 72.85....
Just think if I could have helped say a 1.6 60 ft ?!?!?
Second run was :
reaction 1.286 (WORSE !!!! Disgusting !)
60 ft - 2.30 - 4x4 hooked up well - no slippage!
330 - 6.23 - the Predator shifting was better than ANYTHING !
1/8 - 9.58 @ 73.29....
a little better, but not too good except for the Predator make it only ONE place I could mess it up Had a few people come by after ny bud left asking what was in this thing and HOW MUCH did it weigh ???
I was apologetic for the bad performance and to a man they said - don't apologizee, that's great - I only did....
Except for the GTP driver that asked what my reaction time was..
and when told said "That's terrible !"
I told him thanks - he was doing fine until then and rolled up my window in the staging area But - it WAS a hoot !!!
we'll have to do it again !!!
Now it'll make me spend MORE money on it I can't imagine what those cars doing 150 or so in the 1/8 felt like !!!
but w'll get the most out of the Ex now that we've had that much fun :-)

Wow sounds like big fun! ...I'd love to see some video or pictures if you have them.
So tell me...Is it bad form to do a brake stand to improve response times? Maybe you'll need to move that dam gas pedal closer to the brake pedal Just playing with Ya!......sounds like a blast, I'm jealous Also, How was the down pipe to replace? what vendor did you go with? Is it larger then stock?
I'm trying to get my programmer now but I'm head down to SAN FRAN in May, so I might wait until then and save myself some cash and buy it in the US.
Cheers

Gen-X,
why can't you just mail order the predator from Motorhaven?
they do next day delivery here in the states....
if they can't get it to you... I could order it and mail it to you....
(I want others to have as much fun with their beast !!!!)
Had a ricer run up on me the other night coming back from dinner... SO close I couldn't even see his ROOF !
tapped my brakes to get him off since traffic was NOT moving any faster than I was...
as soon as the lanes opened up he passed me and started to cut me off blowing his horn and trying to accelerate away... guess he thought he had a fast car....
I gave it about 1/2 throttle and it JUMPED right up to his bumper...
of course the brights and PIAA 520's and fogs HAPPENED To come on at the same time...
and for some reason that current draw made the horn go off too, go figure....
he gave me a salute and accelerated away thinking he would just leave me...
I NEVER do this... but decided I'd try it, so I floored it... could see him fishing the gears to try and get away and there was NO WAY !!!
he quickly used a turn signal, pulled over and meekly slowed down !!!!
I don't suggest doing this, but it just happened too fast for me to stop myself ***********************************
and I would STRONGLY recomend the turbo back system... AWESOME performance and certainly lower EGT's....

I hate when sport cars fly up and sit on my bumper. I had a toyota do that to me the other month....it was a bit icy and I was stopped at the red light and she was not....needless to say I drove away with not even a scratch. She must of had aleast $1000 plus in front bumper PLASTIC work to be done. She felt really bad for hitting me ....I thought it was funny because I watched her in my rear view mirror....she flew up and then disssappeared for a second then "thump" and she reappeared. Her car bounced off the X and landed about 3 feet back, didn't move the X one inch. I'm not proud of it...but it did put a smile on my face.

JohnBoy,
Thanks again for your offer, I'm trying to line up a few changes, exhaust and shocks.....the programmer is on the list. If I have trouble getting it I'll be bugging you guys to help me out. What exhaust did you guys go with..
There's Banks, Magnaflow, Diamond Eye Exhaust Systems, Bully Dog Inc. and HOG Exhaust Systems . I'd like the performance but I want to keep the noise down.
Cheers

Not sure the name...
but mine was a turbo back system I got from QuadzillaPower.com...
he's actually about 20 miles from me and is getting out of the exhaust side of the business...
Have seen cheaper sytems, but @ $325 for a turbo back aluminized - I thought it was ok...
Here in Texus we don't have to worry about salt and the corrision from that so Alum. was fine for me...
Funny thing though - it has made in Canada on it !!!!????!!!
The muffler is a flow thru muffler which has a full 4 inches in inside diameter but still is MUCH quieter than the straight pipe I used to have with NO muffler !
I think it is just a hair above stock.... but I KNOW it flows a lot better than even the straigh piped exhaust I had...
I did have the cat put back in and the 1/8th mile runs were with that combo...

Just tried something today I didn't even try out at the drags...
held the brakes and let the boost build just to see how far would be right for my launch next time....
well, even standing on the brakes @ about 2300 the rear tires started to break loose - a LOT ! had to let off since it started going sideways and let off the brakes the boost kept me sliding so I had to yaw the wheel to keep it straight !!!!
Wow... had no idea it would do that much....
I mean I launch hard a lot, but always figured the 8K lbs would keep it planted....
only built the boost when we were out at the track....
I got the feeling I could smoke them as long as I wanted (if I wanted new tires really quickly !)
But now I have to try that same thing in 4x4 to see...
but I was too pumped after that to try it then... would have had to go straight to Discount Tire Next time we go to the drags I can act like one of the trick dragsters and burnout !!!
That should make for some fan fun !!!!

I hear ya!. The 6.0L PSD creates 325HP at 3300RPM and 560ft/lb of torque at 2000 RPM, STOCK!.
Like I wrote on other form threads...it will lay rubber of all of first gear if you drive it right. I can only assume that the HP/torque with a programmer is better. JohnBoy, I've had to pass on the programmer for now because of 2 new oil leaks. I already had the rear main seal done and the ICP replaced. Now the CMP sensor is leaking and something else looks like a cracked high pressure injector rail. Short of the odd brake stand this truck has seen nothing but normal driving. The 6.0L is a strange animal......keep your eyes open for new leaks.
On a side note, the DEC reflash is better then the Oct reflash. Still not as good as when I bought the truck but better.. I'll keep you posted on the oil leaks....Truck goes in on Monday.....I'll be driving the loaner..a Ford FOCUS Cheers
