I have the superchips programer and I have it in the extreme setting and wanted to know why does it shift so dam hard????? 
is this normal?????????

Having stay mostly stock myself I can't give you a first hand account. However, I have read and learned from other that most programmer will increase pressure to the tranny to make it shift harder to avoid slippage. I sure if you put it on a lighter setting it will reduce it's harsh shifting.
Also, the tranny does learn your driving habits too, I know after I did a couple brake stands my stock X began to shifted harder. What flash version (for the ECU) is your X running?

Contact superchips....
MANY are reporting shift issues and they've had two or three releases for it to try to correct and even some custom tuning to get it to shift right.... (shipping back and forth adds up to me  )
Part of the reason I got the diablo predator... NO shift problens and it can be updated over the internet
