When Im driving normal, there is a bad hesitation between 1500 and 2000 RPMs. Over or under that, its is fine. Does anybody know what they could be? Also, I got 98,000 miles on it, what is the warranty for the 7.3L. I know its 100,000 miles, but is there a deductible. |

IIRC, it's a $100 deductible for each visit ????
Just guessing though

Paul,
It could be the signs of injector problems. The 1500 to 2000 RPM is right in the middle of the power band and a pause or hesitation will be the result if the injector or not doing their job. I've been told by fleet owners that 100KM is around the normal life of a 7.3L PSD injector.
Also, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? If it's clogged the same result would occur.
Before the warranty is up have Ford check the injectors.
JohnBoy is right the dedutible is $100.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Hey Guys, My guess is the throttle position sensor. It's part of the pedal and has "dead spots" in them. These don't usually bother folks until they happen to fall in your particular cruising speed. These trucks don't use throttle cables, they are "fly by wire", meaning they send an electric signal to the pcm telling it where your foot is positioned. Unfortunately, the pedals don't have a very good linear signal, but rather have sections in the travel that don't change the throttle position signal. You can change the pedal and see if it fixes it, and most likely it will, or go see your dealer to see if they will fix it. If it's the pedal, they most likely will say it's "within specs"
We carry pedals, but you can get these at any Ford dealer. http://www.dieselsitetoo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=65
Good luck, Bob

I took the truck in and they replaced the fuel filter. That seemed to help for a while, but then last night it came back, but not as bad. They said that they couldnt find anything wrong with it. So Ill try something else then.
Thanks for all your help guys
