After a year of wiping soot off the rear fender I had enough. Here is a simple solution, 4 inch stainless steel tip. It's not pretty but it works.

I personally LIKE the soot. Lets 'em know I'm sporting the PowerStroke! Ha.

Besides, I havn't washed my X since I bought it a year ago. I little dirt won't hurt. Ha.

'01 X Limited w/PSD - STOCK all the way..and plan to stay that way. Pockets turned inside out with 4 kids!

I put the Powerstroke decal on each side of my X to let them know it's a Powerstroke.....the black cloud blowing out the back is just living proof

My X has to be clean...I wash it every week ......

Sick I know

Hah! I wash mine every 6 months. I feel bad about this, but there's a lot of surface area on this sucker to keep clean! My least favorite part is cleaning the interior.

I'm fortunate down hare in Texus - there's a regular car wash a couple of miles from me in Mansfield that has $5 exterior washes on Tuesday and Wednesday....
I bring the X on Tuesday and the LS on Wednesday...

The thing that kills me is how nice the under belly looks on your truck, BirdMan, Eric, Johnboy and many others. The Canadian winters really chews up my X, even with under coating... .....
Maybe some day I'll make enough to move south...

Very true washing the X by hand is an all day event......that's one of the main reasons why I'm passing on putting in a lift kit...stock my X just fits in the drive thur car wash, after folding in the mirrors

Washing the X by hand does take some time! We've owned the rig for a year and I've washed it by hand a couple times and ran it through the car wash a couple times.

I too put the 6.0 Powerstroke badge on the X. One guy while filling up asked me if it had the 6.0, he was in a 2003 7.3 F350!

I've had the same type of thing happen, only in my case the other guy was dirve a dodge ram and he was surprized to learn the X had the PSD.

Ford should make the badge a free option, I don't know how many times I've pulled up to a traffic light with the PSD and people look at the side of the truck to understand what the hell is making all that noise. That's when I mat the peddle and leave the lot of them in a cloud of black smoke.....stupid....... but very fun!!!!!

Some times I really miss having the chip in the F250! The truck has dual straight pipes with no restriction and with the 78HP Diablo Sport chip it would make two huge clouds of black behind it. It was fun smoking little tail gaiting cars and Chevy trucks!!!

Perhaps someday if a BTS tranny or Suncoast is installed the chip will go back in. Driving the truck 50-60K miles a year it needs to be very dependable.
