Here's a pic of the oil heater I'm running.
It's has some type of strong VHB adhesive on it,as you can see it's a fresh install before I put the aluminum color high heat silicone around the edge and seal the bare metal from the weather.

Nice! Is the cable long enough to reach the front grill? This would be a dream to plug-in on a -30C day. Also, I noticed you stated in your footer that you have a Winter Grille Cover installed. What make/model do you use? I have a FIA spring mount. Not bad but is not made for the truck. However it's a 40 sec install with no drilling or permanent mounts.

Cheers

Hi Clay, yeah the cable reaches all the way to the bumper and still has maybe another foot of slack,I have the plug right behind the passengers side of the bumper.

The Winter Grille cover is an actual cover with center vertical zipper and all.Mounted by 8 velcro strips, when warmer weather comes in then on goes the Summer Bug Screen

Picked up the Grille combo from Max up at Canvas Craft in Northern Minnesota,up towards your way Was like $49.95 USD shipped lower 48.

Found a link to the heating pad you use.

http://www.janyce.com/+wolver/heat.html

Why did use with the 40? because of the 13-27US Qts spec or because it fits nicely on the X's oil pan?

I like the idea of the 80. Still looking for a Canadian dealer.

I ordered up my Wolverine 40 today. For the guys in Canada, there is a guy in Toronto that carry this product, his name is David Wim (1-416-322-8480). The cost of my Wolverine 40 was $108+tax+$5.00 shipping).

Thanks CHPMustang for the product idea. My PSD will now have a Coolant, Oil and Tranny heat....

Here's a pic. of my winter cover.

Easy install and it does help. It's not as good as yours but it works.

Cool deal you got the heater on the way Sorry I musta missed your reply post

I chose the 40 as it's the largest one physically that can be installed on the 7.3L pan as shown in the photo.

The homebrew cover on your X has the appearance of a very cold area where you're at

In the photo of the heater installed that pic was taken before I put a bead of the sealant(included) over the edges and bare metal.
