I've noticed that in my area (Long Island, New York) that diesel at most stations is 20 cents MORE a gallon than gas.
I've never owned a diesel so never payed attention until now. Is this similar around the country?
I'll be ordering a diesel X in the spring and am really disappointed at this trend. |

For the longest time it was the other way around till last October when they swapped tables and now gas is lower than Diesel by up to 50 cents depending on where you go.
In my area the differential is closing $1.68 for Diesel and Gas at $1.56 same station before it was almost a 30 cent split

What I think it is, is that they switched a number of refineries to unleaded rather than diesel to compensate for the ones they lost in the storms, regular gas went down, but the dieselers took a hit. |

THe price here is 80cents/L diesel and 68 cents/L for standard gas. Sad but very true.. I guess Sanata will be take the electric sled this year. |

It's making me think that the V10 might be a better way to go?
Especially when you consider the length of time it would take to recoup the cost of the diesel engine based on the "old" diesel vs. gas prices.
Now it would take even longer.

Here in Maryland I have seen regular unleaded as low as 1.69 and diesel round about 2.26 gallon.
Glad I have gas! ( My truck that is)

Test drive one of each, Lance. Around town and on the highway. The power band is different. I personally wouldn't let the cost of diesel fuel be the deciding factor because the diesel offers other advantages as longetivity, 100k transferable warranty, and better fuel economy. 44 gallons @ 18MPG can take you a LONG way! Makes vacationing really fun...if your wife's bladder can last that long. Mine can, hers can't, so it's probably a moot point.
