New to me anyhow. I just picked up a used '04 EX XLT with the 5.4 V8 with 12,500 miles on it. Paid 27.5k. Perfect shape, almost like new. I've read on this board that most folks think that the 5.4 is way underpowered and before I drove this I also thought it might be a bit slow. But I was surprised that it handled the hills and altitude where we're at just fine. Now it's not going to be my primary tow rig, I have a '99 F250PSD for that. But I think I'm really going to like the X with the 5.4.

Of course if $ was no object I would have bought an X with the new 6.0 PSD but 27.5k seemed like a decent buy on an '04 XLT Excursion.

Here's an update. During the safety check the mechanic found that the windshield washer motor wasn't working. They ordered the needed part and two days later it arrived and during the install they found some sort of short that was responsible for the problem. Anyhow the Ex won't be ready until Monday...maybe. It's 5 days past due when it was supposed to be ready for pick up and I'm thinking of asking for some $ considerations for the delay. Any suggestions?

You buying it from a dealer? As long as they don't charge you for the repairs, I don't know that asking for a reduction in price is necessary. Hopefully they will throw in a couple freebies (like oil changes or something?). My $0.02.
