| Quote: | | Okay, sorry for the repetition, but with age, my memory seems to be leaving me. I consistently get this confused. The 3.73 gears will get better mileage than the 4.10 gears but aren't as good for towing, comparatively speaking.....Right?????? Or do I have that backwards. | Keith -- yes to better mileage with 3.73's. With 4.10's in the rearend and at the same speed, your engine RPM will be higher.
Towing is a little more environment-dependent. It really depends what speed you're cruising at, how much load, etc. to really judge which is better for towing. The engine still puts out the same power regardless of rearend gearing, it's all a matter of where you're at in the powerband for towing. 4.10's will simply allow you to get to higher RPMs at a lower speed. For towing, you generally want to be hauling in the "sweet spot" of the engine powerband. Make sense?

Okay, now I get it. I gotta apologize. Up north here, the brainfreeze goes alot deeper (similar to the frost line) BTW, how bad did you get hit with this last go 'round? While the sun was out today, yesterday and last night must have been fun, pushing the snow around....If I remember right, we got a guy from IA here too. Be interesting to see if the snow band was that far south or stayed in southern MN? Typical March weather, I guess...
Thanks again for the clarification.
Keith

Typical March weather, I guess... | We didn't get a single flake of snow...at least where I'm at (northwest side of the cities). Downtown Minneapolis and further south got a lot of snow, though. I'm not bummed...I'm looking forward to spring. With the snow melted in our yard, it's feeling a bit closer to spring time anyway!

LOL-CHP-yeah no kidding, he was saying that in about 50K hes been thru about 2-3 sets of pad and a set of rotors. But I asked how it handled and he said not a problem at all!! He recently got rid of the mighty Ex and bought a dually....but I guess he doesnt just tow the Tiger, he tows several other rigs!! Glad you liked it guys!
