That's a very interesting design. I have yet to install my gauges after having them for about 3 years sitting in a box. I like the pic above because it could function as a sun visor, too! I can't believe after all these years of making vehicles why Ford hasn't figured out a way to create a sun visor that can block the sun between the driver/passenger visors. Looks like this may be the ticket!!

When it comes to visors you know what I did Eric was installed a 6" limo sunband across the top of the windshield which helps alot with the blazing Texas sun almost like having a second pair of sunglasses on

I've got a couple other pics of that overhead gauge pod,I'll add em and post em

One thing I realized today is that my X's rearview mirror has the auto-dim feature and thus has the wires running to it. Can the gauge pod be trimmed on the backside to allow for the rearview mirror wiring loom/feed/harness/thing?

From the looks of the pod in the photo it appears to have a notch ready for the auto dim mirror,I'll confirm it with the photo author.

Well I think I will go with the overhead gauge pod. Now the quesiton is where to get one. I will need everything, gauges and all, except for maybe a boost gauge since my Brother-in-law has one, but I don't know which one. I like the black background gauges so if it is not a black one I will be ordering a new one. Another question, when you buy gauges are all the wires included or do you need to buy a wiring kit seperate?

Thanks again for all the help guys.

The only place I know that has the overhead gauge pods and a ton of other go fast gear is DPP ask for Mark

Just about all gauges come with it's own associated wiring, tubing, probes, etc but depending on how you install it all you may need an adapter here or there but no real issue.

If you're going to use a programmer/chip and/or tow I suggest a Pyrometer,Boost Gauge and tranny/oil temperature gauge.

Thanks Bill. Those were the three I was looking at. Is there a fourth I need at all? I want to do the gauge thing once. and I figure if 3 gauges are good, 4 might be better

Quote:
Bill,
Yes it is molded with a channel for the mirror harness, the 2005 SD's have the mirror as an option too so we have that covered!. Give us a call if you have any questions etc.
