Well I have the order all set and ready to go, except for the FTVB which I will order when I know exactly when I am going to do it so I don't have to rush to get the core back. Here is what I either have sitting in the living room (the wife really likes that) or going on order tomorrow (quote is all done and accepted from ITP):

full set of 9000X shocks
Hellwig bar
Magnaflow XL T-409 system. 3 1/2" down 4" the rest of the way
5" polished slant cut tip
pyro gauge
boost gauge
tranny gauge
over the mirror 3 gauge pod
Diablosport predator tuner

By the time I buy the FTVB I will still be under the $1700 I started with, by at least a few cents
Now I just have to get all this stuff put in; off to the bother-in-laws
I just need to let the wife in on the total cost slowly otherwise

2001 7.3 PSD 4WD X.
Rancho 9000X all the way around with rear Hellwig
Pyro, tranny, and boost overhead gauges
Predator programmer.
Magnaflow 3 1/2" down pipe 4"back T-409 SS (waiting on install)

I just need to get everything on by the end of May. My daughter is going to the AAU gymnastics competition in Florida the begining of June, so the wife is going to drive the trip with her, our two kids, another gymnastics mom and her two kids. I just could not bring myself to burn 60hrs of vacation since I work 12hr shifts and the 7 day trip would have covered 5 of my work days. I just hope it won't be too beastly of a beast

Hey John...
consider checking in with an off road shop for the Hellwig and Rancho install -
Had both mine done for $90 - just two hours of labor...
NOT worth my time to do it myself !!!

On my Ex I set the front and rear 9000's to 1 and if I'm carrying a serious LOAD....bump the rears to 3

Set the predator on the 65hp mode and they'll get about 2 mpg more !
and LOTS more FUN when they need to pass someone

Yes, the gauges are important, but for just straight highway drving at anything under 80 mph you'll be fine with just those three changes for now....

obtw - Have been running the predator on my Ex for about 18 months now - and a bud has been running it with the stock exhaust for just as long....
and he NEVER has seen egt's that concerned him....
at the drags - on his 90 mph runs from DFW to Austin - idling for hours at a time since he's a jobsite consultant and uses it as his office....

There are two off road (or truck shops) that are remotely near me, one is an hour north the other is an hour south. If I go to my brother in laws I will know it is done right the first time. He is in technical sales, but is a machinist and drag engine builder at heart. Usually if he cannot fix it (which has ot happened for me yet) it would be a long search to find someone who could. If it was not for him I would be going to a shop to have it done since then my only other choice would be my father in law who is the "if it does not fit, hit it with a hammer, if that does not work get a bigger hammer" type.

What do the "over the mirror 3 gauge pods" look like?

Do you have a link or pics?

TIA

Everything has finally arrived

Well the kids are sitting on the exhaust box like it is a bench seat playing video games in the living room. My wife thinks I am trying to assemble a truck from parts in the living room with all the stuff I have in there now Now I just need to find time to install it all. I just have to keep telling myself to leave the predator in the box until the gauges are in. A little work to do now, and then the fun.

John, one thing I've learned over time is take plenty of pictures of the mods in their boxes, displayed, being installed and of course the completed product

You can run the Predator but I would not tow with the drag race program in but the tow safe/econo modes should be cool.

Get the gauges knocked out first if possible
