Okay, I know the subject of chips for the diesel has been around for a while, but I don't recall if the Edge Juice and Attitude has been discussed. I just saw a show on TV showing how easy it is to install and the Attitude module does away with the need for the gauges on the A pillar. Has anyone had any experience with this product?
Thanks,
Mike

The monitor mounts to the A pillar in similar fashion to the "X-Monitor" but I recently heard there's an overhead mount for the attitude monitor.
Check with Dennis at ITP as I know he stocks Edge products and may have more info Bill

Bill, thanks, but what I really would like to know is if anyone has used the Edge and how it compares with other products like it. Also, and most important, will it void my warranty with Ford? I still have 60,000 miles left on my extended warranty. Thanks again.

I wish i could give you feedback comparing my SCMT 1700 with the Evolution/Juice but I can't right now If you can't get many responses here I'd suggest swinging by SuperDutyDiesel.com as I know some of the owners have Edge programmers in use on their trucks that can give feedback you're looking for Bill

Hey Bill, thanks. I just joined that site and posed the question to those folks. We'll see what happens.

I saw on the other site you asked if it will void your warranty. It will if you leave the chip installed and bring your vehicle in for service on anything related to the engine, computer, or transmission. Just be sure to REMOVE any evidence of the chip before you bring your vehicle in for warranty repair and you'll be fine.

Haw, haw. You beat me to it. I knew this from talking to my local dealer. That's why I put it to the list. I'm not sure but doesn't the Edge connect to the diagnostic port instead? I talked to my local 4X4 Parts store and they told me that the new unit will have the analog type dials instead of the digital as it is now. I like analog dials as they are easier to interpet, however, I doubt that I can set it up so that all dials are pointing at "12 O'clock" when in the "normal" range. I still like the round dial best.

Yes the Edge Evolution plugs into the OBD port just under the drivers side dash near the right knee.
I'm not sure about the dial situation tho.

I thought I had done adequate research on programmers for my 2001 X PSD when I ordered the Edge Evolution and installed it. But I was not happy with the super sensitive feather touch throttle response and wierd shifting of the tranny. Plenty of HP and GO juice performance, but I was worried about my trans over time, even though I'm just cruising on the highway at steady speeds most of the time. I could barely leave a red light without sounding like I was trying to race away. (not good when a cop is sitting next to me, with my straight no muff pipe bellowing in his window as we pull away)
I spoke with a guy somewhere in AK that builds performance trannys for 7.3's and he explained to me the Edge product does not change shift points and firm up the torque converter lock in to match the new higher HP/torque motor. I bought a Superchips programmer, on his recommendation, as this one DOES tweak shift points, etc. and I'm very pleased with it. The throttle is totally normal and it will go ( not quite as peppy as the Edge) but you have to give it half a pedal instead of 1/8 of a pedal travel with the Edge.
Tranny shifts nicely, and I don't have a fear of trashing it as long as I drive like the middle aged dude I am ( most of the time)
